Forty-two species of Ostracoda are recorded from the Lizard Springs formation, from Kugler's Bed 3 on Soldado Rock, from the Marac Quarry, and from core samples from deep borings. Thirteen new species or subspecies are described, and one new generic name is proposed. Fifteen species recorded here have previously been described from the United States Gulf Coast or from Central America. The faunas from Soldado Rock, Marac Quarry, and the core samples show similarity to the fauna of the Guasare limestone of Venezuela. On the basis of combined evidence from pelagic foraminifera and Ostracoda, these beds are correlated with the basal Lizard Springs.
