Description Asia and Oceania, Indo-west Pacific Oceans. Dorsal fin usually with 7-8 spines and 7-11 soft rays; anal fin with three spines and 7-11 softrays. Pelvic fin with 1 spine and 5 softrays; 24-25 vertebrae. Many species with semi-transparent body. Maximum length about 26 cm. Family named Chandidae in Nelson, 1994. [details]
