Classification According to Nygren (2004) the taxonomic position of this species within the Autolytinae is ambiguous but most probably belongs to Epigamia; thus, even though the name Autolytus is considered to be a junior synonym of Myrianida by him, Nygren (2004) treated A. maclearanus as Epigamia incertae sedis but did not create a combination in Epigamia. In WoRMS this can be represented by transferring the name to Epigamia, but making the name taxon inquirendum [details] Depth range 55 m.
