Nomenclature The name Neomenia monolabrosa was established rather cryptically by Salvini-Plawen (2006), based on the description of "Neomenia sp." by Garcia-Alvarez & Urgorri (2003). However, the name Neomenia monolabrosa satisfies the criteria of availability of the Code: it was declared "spec. nov." [Art. 16.1], and there is a reference to a description [Art. 13.1.2] based one one specimen, which is thus the type by monotypy [Art. 73.1.2]. [details]
