Description "General lateral outline moderately slender, elongate-triangular. Valves relatively thin and light brown when captured live, otherwise translucent when still fresh or milky-white to opaque when fossilised. Opaque spots not distinct, present as irregular, cloudy area medially. Greatest height situated medially, greatest length close to the venter. Dorsal outline moderately arched, forming a median angularity at greatest height. Anterodorsal outline gently sloping to a distinct anterior angle from where the slope steepens towards the anterior. Posterior half of dorsal outline slightly steeper than anterior half, with an increasing slope beyond the posterodorsal angle to the posterior. Anterior well, but obliquely rounded, wide and extending beyond the ventral outline. Posterior well, but obliquely and narrowly rounded (LV narrower). Ventral outline almost straight to slightly sinuous in posterior two thirds. Oral region not concave, but forms a distinct angle towards the anterior. Outline of carapace in dorsal view 'lance' -shaped, with the greatest width medially. Both ends acuminate. Dorsal outline of both valves in dorsal view only weakly sinuous. Overlap of RV over LV pronounced anteriorly and posteriorly, weak medially. Lateral surfaces of valves completely smooth apart from a few scattered lateral pores. Both valves of almost same dimensions. Sexual dimorphism difficult to observe, females being slightly larger than males. Internally, calcified inner lamellae broad with deep, open vestibula. Fused zones moderately wide at both ends with 40-45 simple, unbranched, straight to slightly wavy pore canals posteriorly and 45-50 anteriorly. The pattern of the central muscle scars as for the family. The macrocypridid hinge is only weakly developed." (Jellinek & Swanson, 2003: 89-90) [details]
Diagnosis "A medium-sized, elongate-triangular Macrocyprina species, with a moderately arched and gently angled dorsum. Valves light brownish-coloured when fresh, without distinct opaque spots." (Jellinek & Swanson, 2003: 89) [details]
Dimensions "Holotype MC, LV 1.43/0.55, RV 1.45/0.56." (Jellinek & Swanson, 2003: 89) [details]
