Spirorbis species from the South Atlantic Ocean are described. Species included which are already known to science are: S. aggregatus Caullery & Mesnil, S. claparedei Caullery & Mesnil, S. falklandicus Pixell, S. indicus Sterzinger, S. lebruni Caullery & Mesnil, S. levinseni Caullery & Mesnil, S. moerchi Levinsen, S. nordenskjoeldi Ehlers, S. patagonicus Caullery & Mesnil, S. perrieri Caullery & Mesnil and S. pixelli Harris (S. antarcticus Pixell). New species described for the first time in this paper are: S. auricularis, S. digitus, S. flabellis, S. focalis, S. inventis and S. scoresbyi. Some aspects of distribution of the species in the southern ocean and the significance of modes of incubation to bio-geographical distributions are tentatively discussed.
