Publisher summary: The present report contains the first systematic notes for a comprehensive work on the ecology of the polychaetes of Peru, with special reference to the Humboldt Current, which is already being started and is to be continued in the Humboldt Year of 1959. The material edited here consists of 16 genera and 19 species, of which one genus and 16 species are new to science. The types and paratypoids of the species described are found in the author's collection.
