A collection of octocorals taken by Prof. P.L.G. Benoit and Prof. Bouillon, and another collection made by Prof. Bouillon and Prof. Tursch, appeared to contain thirty two species. Two of them are new, viz.
Sarcophyton turchi sp. n. and
Capnella bouilloni sp. n. Two species have not been reported from the Seychelles before:
Cladiella australis (MacFadyen, 1936) and
Sinularia mayi Lüttschwager, 1915. In addition to a description of the two new species, a redescription of
Cladiella australis (MacFadyen, 1936),
Sinularia notanda Tixier-Durivault, 1966, and
Capnella parva Light, 1913, is given.
