Fig. 1. Gerlachea australis, Dollo, 1900. Antarctische Oceaan. Amerikaans kwadrant (Weddell kwadrant): 71o14' S. en 89o14' W. – Diepte: 450 meter. – Kalkslib, weinig zandhoudend en erratische rotsen (terrigene sedimenten van het continentaal plateau van Antarctica). – Temperatuur: 0,3oC. – 12 mei 1898. – Faubert II, getrokken door het pakijs in drift. – Een enkel exemplaar gevangen. – Totale lengte: 0,18 m. – In leven: "Grijs-blauw, met zwarte stroken; wijde, witte, iriserende regio." (E. G. Racovitza). – Type specimen: museum van Brussel.
