Taxonomic remark Diagnose; Körper spindelförmig, ohne deutliche Grenze zwischen Thorax und Abdomen. Fu. nie auffallend stark verlängert. Eostrnm zungenförmig,hyalin, nicht auffallend gross. A. 1 5—Tgliedrig, das 3. Glied nicht verlängert.A. 2 ohne Borste an der Basis und mit 3gliedrigem Exp., dessen 1. Glied nie mehr als 1 Borste trägt. Labrum mehr oder weniger stark vorstehend. Mand. stets gut entwickelt, mit wenigen Zähnen an der Pars molaris und mit lang gestreckter Basis, die einen abgesetzten Exp. und Enp. trägt. Exp. rel. klein mit wenigen Borsten. Enp. der Maxil. nicht abgesetzt. Max. nicht winklig gebogen, ihr Enp. rudimentär, mit Borsten versehen, von denen 2 prähensil, doch nicht klauenartig sind. Basis des Mxp. distal nicht oder nur wenig breiterals der abgesetzte Enp., der höchstens doppelt so lang wie breit ist und niemehr als 3 Borsten trägt. P. 1—P. 4 mit 3gliedrigen normalen Ästen. Borsten formel etwas variabel, doch trägt das mittlere Enp.-Glied nie mehr als 1 Borste. Exp. P. 5 stets abgesetzt und entweder mit 4 Rand- oder 3 Rand- und 1 Flächenborste versehen. Eier nicht reihenförmig gelagert.
Diagnose: Exp. P. 5 ohne Plächenborste aber mit 4 Pandborsten. Endgbed Enp. P. 2—P. 4 mit 3 Aussenranddornen. Typus E. melaniceps Boeck.
